    ClarinetFest® 2027 will take place in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah, July 7-11, 2027. The Artistic Leadership Team consists of Jaren Hinckley, Madeleine LeBaron, Lee Livengood, Jenifer Olson, Jeremy Reynolds, Darrin Thiriot, and Artistic Directors, Laura Grantier and Jeffrey O’Flynn. 

    The theme for 2027 is Bridging Communities. The Artistic Team would like to invite proposals that feature and support clarinetists, composers, and musicians exploring the following key concepts:

    • Fusion of traditional and modern musical elements

    • Exploration of musical community 

    • Collaborative approaches across regions and peoples 

    In addition to performance proposals, the ICA would like to invite members to submit proposals for the following types of sessions:

    • Hands-On Workshops where members can readily participate 

    • Panel Discussions

    • Sessions focusing on topics of Community Building, Strategies for Industry Success, Health and Wellness, and Global Styles

    The deadline for applications is April 1, 2026.

    The general call for proposals will be available in mid April with a deadline of October 1, 2026.

    ClarinetFest® 2027 Registration Policies

    Welcome to ClarinetFest® 2027

    ClarinetFest® 2027 will be held at the University of Utah in beautiful Salt Lake City, Utah. The campus is located approximately 15 minutes from Salt Lake City International Airport and just 10 minutes from downtown Salt Lake City. The University is easily accessible via the UTA TRAX light rail system, providing convenient transportation between the airport, downtown, and campus.

    Salt Lake City offers a wide variety of hotels, restaurants, shopping, parks, museums, and entertainment. Nearby attractions include Abravanel Hall, the Delta Center, Temple Square, the Utah State Capitol, the Natural History Museum of Utah, Red Butte Garden, and the Cottonwood Canyons.

    For those wishing to extend their stay, Utah is home to the world-famous "Mighty Five" National Parks—Arches, Bryce Canyon, Canyonlands, Capitol Reef, and Zion National Parks—as well as numerous spectacular state parks including Antelope Island, Dead Horse Point, Great Salt Lake State Park, Goblin Valley, Wasatch Mountain State Park, and many more.

    We look forward to welcoming you to experience "Life Elevated" at ClarinetFest® 2027.

    Transportation

    Salt Lake City International Airport (SLC) is served by numerous domestic and international airlines.

    Attendees may travel between the airport, downtown Salt Lake City, and the University of Utah using:

    • UTA TRAX Light Rail
    • UTA Bus Service
    • Taxi service
    • Rideshare services (Uber and Lyft)
    • Rental cars

    Additional transportation information will be provided closer to the conference.

    Booth Selection

    The interactive exhibitor booth map and booth selection schedule will be available during Fall/Winter 2026.

    Priority booth selection will be assigned according to sponsorship level and exhibitor eligibility as outlined in the Exhibitor Prospectus.

    Hotel Accommodations

    The International Clarinet Association will offer discounted room blocks at the Little America Hotel and additional partner hotels convenient to the University of Utah and conference activities.

    Hotel reservation information, room rates, and booking instructions will be announced during Fall 2026.

    Liability Waiver

    By registering for and attending ClarinetFest® 2027, you voluntarily assume responsibility for your participation in conference activities.

    To the fullest extent permitted by law, you release and hold harmless the International Clarinet Association (ICA), the University of Utah, Little America Hotel, their respective trustees, officers, directors, employees, volunteers, contractors, agents, and representatives from any and all claims, liabilities, damages, losses, expenses, or causes of action arising from your participation in ClarinetFest® 2027, except where caused by gross negligence or willful misconduct.

    Assumption of Risk

    Participation in ClarinetFest® 2027 involves certain inherent risks, including but not limited to exposure to contagious illnesses, accidents, personal injury, property loss, and other unforeseen hazards associated with attending a public event.

    By attending ClarinetFest® 2027, you acknowledge these risks and voluntarily assume full responsibility for any illness, injury, loss, or damage that may occur in connection with your participation.

    You agree to comply with any health, safety, or emergency procedures established by the International Clarinet Association, the University of Utah, or applicable governmental authorities during the conference.

    Attendees who are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness are strongly encouraged to refrain from attending conference activities until they are no longer contagious.

    Refund Policy

    All refund requests must be submitted in writing to:

    Refunds will be issued according to the following schedule based on the conference start date:

    Request Received Refund
    More than 60 days before the conference 100%
    46–60 days before the conference 50%
    31–45 days before the conference 30%
    30 days or fewer before the conference No Refund


    Processing fees charged by third-party payment processors are non-refundable.

    Refunds will generally be processed within 30 days following approval.

    ICA Policies

    By completing your registration, you acknowledge that you have read and agree to abide by all International Clarinet Association policies, including the ICA Bylaws, Code of Conduct, Anti-Harassment Policy, and any conference rules or procedures established for ClarinetFest® 2027.

    The ICA is committed to providing a safe, welcoming, inclusive, and respectful environment for all participants.

    If you experience or witness behavior inconsistent with these policies, please contact:

    or notify an ICA staff member, board member, volunteer, or conference official immediately.

    Photography and Media Release

    By attending ClarinetFest® 2027, you grant the International Clarinet Association permission to photograph, record, livestream, and otherwise capture your likeness, image, voice, name, and participation during conference activities.

    You authorize the ICA to use these recordings in perpetuity, without compensation, for educational, promotional, archival, marketing, fundraising, and other lawful purposes in any media now known or later developed, including:

    • Websites
    • Social media
    • Printed publications
    • Promotional materials
    • News releases
    • Broadcast and digital media

    You waive any right to inspect or approve the finished materials and release the ICA from any claims relating to the use of such recordings, including claims involving privacy, publicity rights, defamation, or copyright.

    Individuals who do not wish to appear in photographs or recordings should notify conference staff upon check-in. While the ICA will make reasonable efforts to accommodate such requests where practical, it cannot guarantee that attendees will not appear incidentally in crowd photography or video recordings taken in public conference spaces.

    Additional Policies for ClarinetFest® 2027

    Accessibility Accommodations

    The International Clarinet Association is committed to providing an accessible and inclusive conference experience.

    Attendees requiring reasonable accommodations under the Americans with Disabilities Act (ADA) or for other accessibility needs are encouraged to contact the ICA as early as possible, and no later than 30 days prior to the conference, to allow sufficient time to coordinate accommodations.

    While every reasonable effort will be made to fulfill accommodation requests received after this date, the ICA cannot guarantee that all requests can be accommodated if received shortly before the conference.

    Force Majeure

    The International Clarinet Association reserves the right to postpone, reschedule, modify, relocate, or cancel ClarinetFest® 2027, in whole or in part, if circumstances beyond its reasonable control make it impossible, illegal, unsafe, or commercially impracticable to hold the conference as planned.

    Such circumstances may include, but are not limited to:

    • Acts of God
    • Natural disasters
    • Severe weather
    • Fire or flood
    • War, terrorism, or civil unrest
    • Government orders or restrictions
    • Public health emergencies or communicable disease outbreaks
    • Labor disputes or strikes
    • Utility or infrastructure failures
    • Venue unavailability
    • Any other event beyond the reasonable control of the ICA

    If ClarinetFest® 2027 is canceled or materially modified due to a force majeure event, the ICA will determine, in its sole discretion, whether registration fees will be refunded, credited toward a future event, or otherwise adjusted based upon expenses incurred and applicable contractual obligations.

    The ICA shall not be liable for any travel expenses, lodging costs, lost profits, or other consequential damages incurred by attendees, exhibitors, sponsors, or presenters arising from such cancellation, postponement, relocation, or modification.

    Health and Safety

    The health and safety of all participants remain a priority.

    Attendees agree to comply with all conference safety procedures, venue policies, and applicable federal, state, and local laws in effect during ClarinetFest® 2027.

    Individuals who are experiencing symptoms of a contagious illness, have been advised by a medical professional not to attend public gatherings, or otherwise present a significant health risk to others are strongly encouraged not to attend conference activities until it is safe to do so.

    The ICA reserves the right to implement reasonable health and safety protocols if circumstances warrant, including measures required by governmental authorities, the University of Utah, conference hotels, or event venues.

    Policy Changes

    The International Clarinet Association reserves the right to modify conference policies, registration requirements, schedules, venues, programming, exhibitors, presenters, or operational procedures at any time when necessary for the successful operation of ClarinetFest® 2027.

    Material policy changes will be communicated to registered attendees using the contact information provided during registration.

    Continued participation in ClarinetFest® 2027 following notice of any policy updates constitutes acceptance of the revised policies.
